Airtel Business launched Airtel IQ Gateway, which it describes as India’s first business communications platform powered by telco-grade network intelligence, aimed at helping enterprises manage customer interactions across multiple channels while reducing fraud and delivery failures.
The new platform brings together SMS, WhatsApp, Rich Communication Services (RCS), business voice communications and number verification capabilities on a single DPDP-compliant control plane. Airtel said the offering is designed to help enterprises simplify customer engagement while improving security and regulatory compliance.According to Airtel Business, organisations often rely on multiple vendors and communication tools to reach customers, creating operational complexity and limited visibility into message delivery.
The company said Airtel IQ Gateway enables enterprises to manage all customer communication channels from a unified dashboard with real-time analytics and delivery reporting. The platform also supports automatic switching to backup service providers and intelligent routing across communication channels.
Airtel said the platform is particularly relevant for industries such as banking, financial services, government, e-commerce and logistics, where secure customer communications are critical.
The platform includes Airtel IQ Verify, a fraud-scoring system that evaluates network, device and usage signals to detect suspicious account creation attempts, account takeovers and artificial traffic spikes. Airtel said the feature can help enterprises reduce losses linked to fraud and inflated messaging traffic. The company also highlighted protection against fraudulent SMS pumping, a practice where bots generate artificial international OTP traffic, increasing communication costs for enterprises. In addition, the platform offers Silent Authentication, which validates whether a mobile number matches the active SIM card in a user’s device. Airtel said this can reduce dependence on OTP-based login systems and help mitigate SIM-swap and social engineering risks.Airtel IQ Gateway can be deployed either on an enterprise’s premises or through Airtel’s cloud infrastructure as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, depending on security and operational requirements.
The company said the platform also automates integration with Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)-based messaging systems and helps businesses manage approved message templates more efficiently.Sharat Sinha, CEO of Airtel Business, said trusted digital interactions are becoming increasingly important as India expands its digital economy. “With IQ Gateway, we are extending this proven expertise to enterprises, enabling them to build brand trust while ensuring every customer conversation is safe, authenticated and resilient,” Sinha said.Airtel said the platform has already undergone trials with select banks, financial institutions and industry partners before its nationwide launch.
