Luxembourg Confirms That Funds Can Directly Issue Shares on Distributed Ledgers | KuCoin
ME News reports that on October 3 (UTC+8), digital asset media Generation Infinity (Genfinity) stated on October 2, 2026, that Luxembourg has confirmed investment funds can issue shares natively on a distributed ledger, with such shares existing solely in token form. The account also noted that Luxembourg is Europe’s largest investment fund jurisdiction and the world’s second-largest fund center. This confirmation corresponds to the first version of the CSSF’s (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier) newly released “FAQ – Tokenisation” on the same day. The document clarifies that Luxembourg-based collective investment undertakings (UCIs) may issue native shares or stocks exclusively in token form using distributed ledger technology, provided their operational model complies with applicable regulatory frameworks. Issuance via distributed ledger does not determine the legal form of the underlying securities; such shares or stocks may be issued in registered or dematerialized form. (Source: ChainCatcher)
