Berlin remains a hub for technological innovation: In 2026, the Deep Tech Award will once again honor outstanding companies whose innovations are shaping the future. A total of 15 finalists are competing in five categories, impressively demonstrating just how diverse and dynamic the capital’s deep tech scene is – from artificial intelligence and quantum technologies to advanced manufacturing.
Artificial Intelligence
- LiveEO GmbH
The Berlin-based company uses AI and satellite data to monitor infrastructure such as high-voltage power lines and the trees surrounding them. The company provides precise analyses for industries such as energy, mobility, and agriculture, and helps prevent forest fires and power outages in a resource-efficient manner.
- Gretchen AI GmbH
Gretchen AI develops state-of-the-art AI to detect deepfakes and fake news and reconstruct their dissemination history. This enables major media companies to conduct fact-checks up to 500% faster.
- Accessful GmbH
Accessful offers a tool for automatically converting PDF documents that are not machine-readable into accessible documents, with the aim of making information more accessible, particularly for people with disabilities.
Web3 & Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT)
- NYALA Digital Asset AG
NYALA focuses on the tokenization of real-world assets. The platform makes it easier for companies and investors to access digital financial instruments and supports the transformation of traditional markets.
- Decen Space UG
The startup develops Web3-based solutions for decentralized, secure data coordination between satellites and ground stations. This allows for more efficient use of expensive satellites.
- Bitbond GmbH
Bitbond offers a modular system as a platform for creating tokens on various blockchains. This allows even users without development experience to distribute tokens on a blockchain.
Bio- & Healthtech
- Blueprint Biomed GmbH
Blueprint Biomed is developing a biodegradable implant that can be used to treat severe bone fractures. This eliminates the need for artificial implants and multiple surgeries.
- CARTemis Therapeutics GmbH
With a focus on immuno-oncology, CARTemis Therapeutics develops cancer therapies based on the body’s own T cells.
- MyoPax GmbH
MyoPax’s work focuses on innovative cell therapies and gene corrections for the regeneration of muscle tissue. In doing so, the company specifically targets severe muscle injuries and diseases, offering patients promising new treatment options.
Quantum technologies, photonics & microelectronics
- Rydberg Photonics GmbH
Rydberg Photonics is developing advanced photonic systems specifically designed for mobile applications in the quantum field. This opens up new possibilities for industrial-scale quantum-based applications.
- Xavveo GmbH
Xavveo is developing photonic radar sensors that are setting new standards in fields such as navigation and measurement technology. The technology enables unprecedented accuracy.
- Watergenics GmbH
Real-time water quality analysis is at the heart of Watergenics’ photonic solutions. In this way, the company helps identify environmental changes at an early stage and promotes the sustainable management of water resources.
Advanced Manufacturing
- Endless Industries GmbH
Endless Industries is revolutionizing the manufacturing of fiber-reinforced composites with a 3D printing solution. This allows for the replacement of complex and expensive manufacturing processes and helps reduce waste.
- Ailoys GmbH
Ailoys develops sensors for AI-powered real-time quality control. For example, in copper wire production, this can significantly reduce scrap and detect defects early on.
- SOLYCO TECC GmbH
SOLYCO TECC replaces conventional processes in solar panel manufacturing. This makes solar panel production more cost-effective, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly.
Prize money
The Deep Tech Award offers a total prize pool of 50,000 euros. In each of the five categories, one winning company will be selected and awarded 10,000 euros. In addition to financial support, the winners will benefit from high visibility and a strong network within Berlin’s innovation scene.
Award ceremony
This year’s Deep Tech Award ceremony will take place on May 20, 2026, at Wilhelm Studios in Berlin as part of the Deep Tech Momentum conference. Deep Tech Momentum is Europe’s leading platform for connecting deep-tech startups with companies and investors.
