As a national competent authority, the Banque de France, alongside the Autorité de contrôle prudentielet de résolution (ACPR – Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority) and the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF – Financial Markets Authority), depending on the entities concerned, is tasked with the oversight of France’s financial market infrastructures. It also contributes to the cooperative oversight of various European and international market infrastructures and payment systems. Over the past three years, there have been a number of significant developments in the supervision of market infrastructures, in terms of changes to the regulatory framework, the emergence of new challenges and the amplification of previously observed trends.
