TechFlow reported on September 28 that the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced a strategic partnership with fintech firm iCapital and made a strategic investment in iCapital. The two parties will integrate DTCC’s market clearing and settlement infrastructure with iCapital’s technology platform, aiming to connect data and operations across the full private market investment lifecycle, reduce operational friction, and enhance transaction efficiency.

Additionally, both parties plan to further integrate DTCC’s Alternative Investment Products (AIP) with the iCapital platform, and will explore technologies such as blockchain distributed ledger technology (DLT) and asset tokenization to advance the standardization and scaled development of the private asset market. As part of the investment agreement, the Head of DTCC’s Wealth and Investment Solutions business will serve as a Board Observer on iCapital’s board.
